What is Embryo Transfer?

Embryo transfer is the procedure in which one or more fertilised embryos, cultured in the laboratory, are gently placed into the uterine cavity via a thin catheter. It is a painless, non-surgical procedure and represents the culmination of the IVF process — the moment that could become the beginning of your pregnancy.

Who is this treatment for?

  • Patients completing a fresh IVF or ICSI cycle
  • Those using frozen-thawed embryos (FET) from a previous cycle
  • Women using donor eggs with partner or donor sperm
  • Surrogacy recipients receiving transferred embryos
  • Patients who had embryo banking for genetic testing (PGT)
  • Anyone undergoing a second or subsequent embryo transfer attempt
