Embryo transfer is the procedure in which one or more fertilised embryos, cultured in the laboratory, are gently placed into the uterine cavity via a thin catheter. It is a painless, non-surgical procedure and represents the culmination of the IVF process — the moment that could become the beginning of your pregnancy.
Who is this treatment for?
- Patients completing a fresh IVF or ICSI cycle
- Those using frozen-thawed embryos (FET) from a previous cycle
- Women using donor eggs with partner or donor sperm
- Surrogacy recipients receiving transferred embryos
- Patients who had embryo banking for genetic testing (PGT)
- Anyone undergoing a second or subsequent embryo transfer attempt
